چکیده

The aim of the study was to visualize micromorphology Amaranthaceous pollen using scanning electron microscopy collected from Thal Desert. Field collection conducted July September 2021. A total 14 taxa family Amaranthaceae were which belong nine genera. Achyranthes aspera, Aerva javanica, lanata, Amaranthus graecizans, retroflexus, viridis, Bassia indica, Chenopodium album, ficifolium, murale, Digera muricata, Haloxylon stocksii, Salsola tragus, and Suaeda fruticosa studied in terms morphotypes. Pollen acetolyzed observed under optical microscopy. Qualitative quantitative characters measured analyze uncover its taxonomic significance. shape polar equatorial views; most frequent spheroidal view, whereas prolate dominant shape. Exine ornamentation is key characteristic very helpful, eight different types ornamentations taxa: smooth sparsely granulate, scabrate-spinulose, microspinulose perforate, microechinate scabrate metareticulate, nanospinulate, granulate-spinulose granulate-perforate echinate, perforate. Periporate-type aperture among all taxa. Mesoporia, ektexinous bodies, tectum features also show variations grains. In character, A. retroflexus recorded highest view 26.3 μm lowest C. album 12.2 μm. Highest P/E index ratio S. (1.12) for D. muricta (0.94). thickness tragus 2.15 graecizans 0.78 maximum number pores as 32-36 muricata. Artificial keys constructed based on findings that reinforce importance micromorphological ultrastructural diversity It concluded descriptions morphotypes presented greatly contribute our understanding desert species identification.

Automatic Pollen Grain and Exine Segmentation from Microscope Images

In this article, we propose an automatic method for the segmentation of pollen grains from microscope images, followed by the automatic segmentation of their exine. The objective of exine segmentation is to separate the pollen grain in two regions of interest: exine and inner part. A coarse-to-fine approach ensures a smooth and accurate segmentation of both structures. As a rough stage, grain s...

Pollen ultrastructure of the Haemodoraceae and its taxonomic significance

The classification of the genera and tribes of the monocot family Haemodoraceae has been variable and uncertain. In order to provide additional taxonomic characters, SEhl and TEhl were used in describing the pollen ultrastructure of seventeen genera and nineteen species of the family. The Haemodoraceae as a whole, with the exception oflannria and Lophioka, is palynologically united by the absen...

Inflated Sporopollenin Exine Capsules Obtained from Thin-Walled Pollen

Sporopollenin is a physically robust and chemically resilient biopolymer that comprises the outermost layer of pollen walls and is the first line of defense against harsh environmental conditions. The unique physicochemical properties of sporopollenin increasingly motivate the extraction of sporopollenin exine capsules (SECs) from pollen walls as a renewable source of organic microcapsules for ...

MICROMORPHOLOGY OF SEED IN SOME VICIA SPECIES FROM IRAN

The morphology of 11 species of the genus Vicia from Iran was studied using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The main pattern in seed coat sculpturing in the species was papillose, but the size and the number of side ribs in papillae and the density of papillae, were different in various species. Four morphological characters of seeds: relative hilum length and shape, relative position of th...

Exine micromorphology of Orchidinae (Orchidoideae, Orchidaceae): phylogenetic constraints or ecological influences?

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Pollen characters have been widely used in defining evolutionary trends in orchids. In recent years, information on pollination biology and phylogenetic patterns within Orchidinae has become available. Hence, the aim of the presented work is to re-evaluate exine micromorphology of Orchidinae in light of recent phylogenetic studies and to test whether pollen micromorphology s...
